Miles-Platts has a policy of continuous environmental improvement and is committed to working closely with both our suppliers and customers to achieve this goal. The Company has placed great importance on ensuring that our products comply with RoHS & WEEE directives well in advance of the statutory deadlines. Miles-Platts' environmental road map includes attaining certification to ISO14000 in addition to developing technical solutions such as press-fit terminals to remove the need for PCB soldering operations and only utilising raw materials that meet the directive.

Miles-Platts products are manufactured with production processes that do not add or contain the following restricted substances as outlined in the RoHS directive 2011/65/EU. (Additional four items added in March 2015 ref commission delegated directive (EU) 2015/863: amending annex II to directive 2011/65/EU.)

The entire range of Miles-Platts terminals is lead-free plated.

Wire pins
The entire range of Miles-Platts wire pins is lead-free plated.

Lead-free
We hope that our lead-free products will assist in meeting your customers' environmental requirements and help you secure more business by being able to offer lead-free products. Miles-Platts have chosen pure matt tin as the plating standard for all wire and terminal variations

Polymers
Miles-Platts uses a large range of engineering polymers from many key manufacturers such as DuPont, Solvay, EMS, DSM, Celenese, Victrex & Lati. Each manufacturer has issued a statement regarding the compliance of their material to the directive.
