With over 50 years of precision moulding experience, Miles Platts has become a leading coil bobbin and electro-technical component manufacturer providing global customers with high-quality, reliable parts.

Our factory holds over 20 injection moulding machines ranging from 25 to 200 tonnes clamping force operating 24 hours, Miles-Platts have a high capacity, flexible production plant able to meet the most demanding customer schedules. We are capable of manufacturing over 8 million units of high quality injection moulded parts per month in addition to our overseas manufacturing partners.

We have developed a unique tooling system which has supplied customers with low-cost insert-type mould tools. Our in-house mould tools range from single impression to multi-cavity production tools, all with a guaranteed life expectancy in excess of 500,000 cycles. The rapid set-up of modular tooling allows flexible changes to the production schedule to meet changing market and customer demands.

We pride ourselves on offering high-quality in-house tooling design and manufacturing that provides optimum flash-free mouldings as a result of the quality of tooling and precision injection moulding.

Our capabilities also include the design and manufacturing of insert moulding tools and the over-moulding of metal parts. To this end, investment has been made into the moulding plant with vertical and horizontal injection capability into a multi-stage rotary table function to optimise volume production.

As one of the country's largest precision technical moulders, we have extensive knowledge and stock holding of engineering polymers from leading manufacturers. All of the moulding materials used have been certified by our suppliers as RoHS (EU Directive2015/836) compliant and are therefore free from hazardous substances.

With a significant emphasis on injection moulded parts for the electrical industry, Miles-Platts know the importance of stringent material control and the need to have full batch traceability. Miles-Platts are a UL recognised moulder and all standard products are moulded in UL yellow carded materials.
