Introduction of EMS Grilon TSV0 Grey
Due to Rhodia having informed us that the Technyl A20 material was being discontinued, (Miles Platts code FUNNAT), we have been searching for, and conducting materials trials on acceptable alternative materials. We have now finalised our choice and will in future be using EMS Grilon TSV0 as a replacement (Miles Platts code TS0GRY). This Nylon 66/6 material was chosen for its enhanced properties and has a flame retardant UL94VO rating down to 0.4 mm, it is also halogen and red phosphorous free, CTI of 600 and GWFI of 960oC). The only visual difference that you will notice is the colour, which is electrical Grey (Ral 7035).
Grilon TSV0 will be used to produce the Miles Platts N and U range potting / encapsulation boxes.
This material has been tested and accepted by current customers (including thermal testing on the transformers)

We are still conducting trials for a “reserve” material which may be used if we have quality, price or availability issues with the EMS Grilon TSV0 material. In the unlikely situation where we need to use any alternative material to the Grilon TSV0, we would inform you in advance.
