Technical Bulletin A218V30 October 2010
Miles Platts are introducing Rhodia Technyl A218V30 into its range of house resins.
The A218V30 is a 30% Glass reinforced Nylon 66, Heat stabilised with a UL94 HB flammability rating at 0.8mm (UL File Number E44716). This material is very similar to the B218V30 which it is planned to eventually replace.
An added benefit of this grade is that it also has UL1446 class B (130oC) insulation systems available. Details of these systems can be supplied upon request.
The primary reason for this change is that the B218V30 is no longer a standard material grade and therefore is becoming more difficult to obtain, especially in a time of Polymer shortages. Non-standard materials may also be made obsolete. A218V30 is a standard Rhodia grade and easily available.
